Apply for Dedicated Status - Milnerton Shooting Association

In order to achieve “Dedicated Status” within the Milnerton Shooting Association, members must accumulate a total of 3 points during the calendar year. The points can be earned through various club-related activities but only 1 point can be appointed per day irrespective of the number of activities the member partakes in. Once the required points have been accumulated over 3 separate days, a committee member will verify the points before the Dedicated Status is awarded.

Criteria for Earning Points

The following activities will earn members 1 point:

Range Officer Duty – Serve as a Range Officer for any scheduled club event.
Range Clean-Up Assistance – Participate in the clean-up of the range after an event or competition.
Annual General Meeting (AGM) Attendance – Attend the club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Committee Membership – Become a member of the Milnerton Shooting Association Committee.
Range Officer Shoot – Participate in a Range Officer Shoot.
Club Competition Participation – Compete in any Club Competition, regardless of discipline. These include:

– Handgun Shoot

– Rifle Shoot

– Defensive Shoot

– Shotgun Shoot

– Range Officer Shoot

– Christmas Shoot / Participation

Important Notes

Point Accumulation Period: All points must be accumulated within the current calendar year. Points cannot be carried over to the following year.
Verification: The Dedicated Officer will review and confirm all points awarded.
Minimum Requirement: A minimum of 1 club competition must be participated in to meet the 3-point requirement.
Dedicated Status with another Club: Any “Dedicated Status” with another organisation/club will not be accepted or carried across to the MSA point system. The MSA Dedicated status runs independently of all outside organisations.

How to Apply for Dedicated Status

Once the 3 points have been accumulated, please submit a formal request to the Dedicated Officer of the Milnerton Shooting Association Committee. The Dedicated officer will review and confirm your eligibility based on the points you have earned.

Memebers are now required to download and fill the application form prior to applying for the Dedicated Sports Shooter Application
